Alpha build
Previously we've only published small finished projects. This time around we are deviating from that.
One of the issues with releasing a finished product is that there is no time or opportunity to make changes based on what other people say about your product. The chances of you getting everything right is really slim and getting feedback early and often is crucial to success.
As such we are publishing this project in a very early stage, expect everything to change!
While the core gameplay loop of slay monsters, collect powerups to stay alive is present, it still lacks tuning.
The list of things that works is a short one, and by works we don't mean it is done, we merely mean that it is barely working.
- Hack & Slash
- Collect powerups
- Basic AI
- Online services
- One placeholder level, that can't be completed
On the list of things that needs to be done, everything is the short version. The long version however is:
- Sounds
- Your speakers/headphones are not broken, there is no sound at all yet.
- Level Design
- Some cinematic would be nice to have, as well as a couple of levels you can actually complete
- Preferably with proper collision and stuff
- Overhaul the monsters damage numbers, health and speed
- Also we probably need to think about the niche we want them to fill.
- The bat was supposed to fill the role of the spitter in Left for Dead, it isn't working that well.
- AI overhaul
- Like the end boss shooting above you...
- UI overhaul
- Because the unreal default buttons are such a treat to behold
- Character customization
- It works for most cases, but there are some edge cases that needs addressing
- We might make heterochromatic eyes an option
- Lobbies
